Technical Information

We appreciate that technical facts are ‘technical’! However, here is a brief overview of some of the jargon:

LED lighting has traditionally only been used in specific situations. The technology is now evolved considerably and offers effective, competitive and highly advantageous solutions for general lighting applications. Today’s LED lights can be fixed in retrofit situation which enables more cost effective and quicker installations. However, the vast majority of the LED lamps available on the market are of poor construction, low light output and limited life span.

At ECO Specialists we have developed a range of commercial LED products that have carefully been engineered for long life. They utilise premium components and the brightest most robust LED lights available on the market. All our CREE based products have been certified to the highest standards and have undergone rigorous testing.

LED Lighting Facts

Energy Efficiency

LEDs are highly efficient. The new LED Retrofit bulbs typically consume only a few watts of power, enabling considerable savings in energy bills.

Long Life

LEDs produce a service life of between 10,000 and 50,000 hours. This is considerably higher than traditional bulbs. This is why LEDs are ideal for hard-to-reach and difficult to maintain fixtures such as exit sign lighting.

Plug & Play Retrofit

Many LED bulbs are now available as a direct replacement for standard lighting, simply swap out the bulb and plug in the LED replacement.

Wide Range of Colours

LED bulbs are available in a variety of warm and cool white colour temperatures. The majority of LED bulbs are also available in a other colours, such as red, green, blue and yellow. The bulbs offer incredibly rich and vibrant colours.

No UV Emissions / Low Infrared / Low Heat

LEDs produce no UV radiation and relatively little heat, making them ideal for illuminating objects, such as artwork and items that are sensitive to heat and UV light.

Durable

LEDs are incredibly durable and they don’t feature filament that can be damaged due to shock and vibrations.

Low Toxicity

Unlike compact fluorescents, LEDs don’t contain mercury and can, therefore, be more safely disposed of.

Instant Light

LEDs reach their full brightness almost instantly, unlike their compact fluorescent counterparts which can take more than a minute to reach their maximum output.
