Households could see a 60 per cent increase in energy bills in the next seven years according to the UK's regulator.

It comes a week after the ban on traditional 'non- directional' incandescent bulbs began. It is now illegal to import bulbs of 100 watts or more. Over the next three years the ban will be extended to 60, 40 and 25 watt bulbs.
A legally binding target of at least an 80 percent cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, to be achieved through action in the UK and abroad. Also a reduction in emissions of at least 34 percent by 2020. Both these targets are against a 1990 baseline
