ECO Specialists appears in the latest ‘Green’ Insider magazine.
One beneficiary of the “save costs – and save the earth for free!” movement is Eco Specialists, based at Birmingham Science Park, Aston. The company retro-fits strip lights in factories and claims to be able to make savings of up to 80 per cent in lighting bills.
Business development director Paul Maddox says: “For most of the companies we work with the question ‘how can we save the planet?’ doesn’t come into it. It’s about saving costs and return on investment. If we show a return on investment in a factory of, say, two years they’re interested: if we show that a refit will save £1,200 a month and a loan from the Carbon Trust will cost £1,000 a month they can’t wait to sign up.”
